RGVPAS Frank Ambriz, PA-C Student Scholarship

The RGVPAS Frank Ambriz, PA-C Student Scholarship honors the outstanding achievements of PA Frank Ambriz within the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) and beyond. This scholarship supports aspiring Physician Assistants (PAs) and aims to advance the PA profession in the RGV. Recipients will be announced during the annual RGVPAS Spring CME Conference.

Student Scholarship Program Overview

 RGVPAS is thrilled to launch the Student Scholarship Program. Four scholarships, each valued at $500, will be awarded:

• Two scholarships for didactic PA students
• Two scholarships for clinical PA students

Key Dates

• Applications Open: January 5, 2025
• Applications Close: March 1, 2025

Award Criteria

The RGVPAS Student Scholarship will be granted to current UTRGV PA students who:

• Exemplify the qualities of a PA through compassionate, ethical, and competent team-based care
• Display professionalism, leadership, inclusion, and advocacy for the profession

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Enrollment: Must be a current UTRGV PA Program student
2. Academic Standing: Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
3. Community and Professional Involvement: Must demonstrate active service to both the community and the PA profession

Required Application Documents

Applicants must submit the following:

1. Completed Application Form: (Link provided below)
2. Updated CV: Highlighting academic, professional, and service achievements
3. Letters of Recommendation:
   • One from a current faculty member (must verify GPA and expected graduation date in the letter)
   • One from a multidisciplinary team member
