The Frank Ambriz, PA-C Student Scholarship
RGVPAS Frank Ambriz, PA-C Student Scholarship is a testament to the remarkable accomplishments of PA Ambriz within the RGV area and beyond. This scholarship is an initiative to support aspiring PAs and advance the PA profession within the Rio Grande Valley. The recipients of this scholarship will be unveiled at our annual spring CME conference.
Student Scholarship Program
RGVPAS is excited to begin a new Student Scholarship Program. In the inaugural year, RGVPAS will award one $500 scholarship to a didactic PA student and one $500 scholarship to a clinical PA student.
The deadline to apply is February 15, 2024.
Award Criteria: The RGVPAS Student Scholarship will be awarded to a current UTRGV PA Student who best exemplifies the characteristics of a PA by displaying compassionate, ethical, and competent team-based care. The student must also portray professionalism and inclusion as a leader and advocate for the profession.
Award Eligibility:
- Student must be within 12 months of graduation from the UTRGV PA Program.
- Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater
- Student must be in involved in service both to the community and the profession
Required documents to apply:

- A current/updated CV
- Letters of recommendation from a multidisciplinary team:
- A current faculty member (must verify GPA and graduation date in letter)
Applicants response required:
- Describe how you best exemplify the characteristics of a PA to include compassionate, ethical, and competent team-based care.
- Explain how you display leadership and service both to your community and the profession.
- Tell how you portray professionalism both in and out of the classroom while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
